Venue and Social Events
Nove Hrady is a small historical town situated in marvelous South Bohemia about 35 km from Ceske Budejovice, the home of the Czech king of beers Budweiser, and 90 km from Linz (Austria). It features a traditional medieval castle and a chateau, which houses the Institute of Physical Biology and the Institute of Landscape Ecology and will serve as our Meeting Centre. Nove Hrady sits right at the heart of two natural pearls of South Bohemia, the Protected Landscape Area Trebonsko and the Natural Park of Novohradske Hory (Nove Hrady Mountains), respectively. There are numerous hiking and biking trails in the neighbouring areas.

In addition, the city of Nove Hrady is also situated about 25 km from Trebon and about 50 km from Cesky Krumlov. These small towns represent the true highlights of the Czech national history with their spectacular chateaus and city centers formed by tiny squares and streets. Cesky Krumlov is the UNESCO town preserve and the second most often visited town in Czech Republic. Trebon's spa is surrounded with many old fishponds including the largest one in the Czech Republic bearing a name Svet (The World).

The guided tour to Cesky Krumlov or Trebon will be offered to the Meeting participants on a free Friday afternoon. The Trebon tour will take you to the historical Regent beer brewery (founded in 1379) with a beer tasting. We would like to kindly ask those interested to register for the tours at the registration form. The tour charge will be added to your registration fee and should not exceed 60 EUR. The meeting will be concluded with a banquet at the Meeting Centre Nove Hrady.
Abstract Submission
Applicants are strongly encouraged to present a poster. Limited number of posters will be selected for oral presentation. Those selected will be notified together with confirmation of participation in early September. Please use the registration link to submit/edit your abstract. Please note that the abstract submission deadline is July 31, 2006.
Hotel
Accommodation in twin rooms is included in the registration fee from November 8 to November 12 (four nights). Organizers will assist you with pre- or post-Meeting accommodation in Nove Hrady upon request. Students requesting support may be accommodated in triple rooms. Meals will be served in the historical building of the adjacent cloister.
Local Transport
All buildings and hotels are located nearby the historical centre of Nove Hrady and are within a walking distance from the Meeting Centre.
